Blackstone 2-Burner 28" Griddle Combo with Air Fryer and Hood

Blackstone's new 28" AirFryer Griddle Combo is worth taking a look at!

For outdoor griddle cooking enthusiasts, a new star is emerging and burning brightly as we head nonplussed toward the conclusion of 2020.

Blackstone Products has released a new 28" AirFryer Griddle combo with a hood and it's going to be very popular!

Blackstone 28" AirFryer Griddle Combo

This two-burner 28" AirFryer Griddle combo is Blackstone's second AirFryer offering, and a formidable follow-up to the wildly successful 36" AirFryer Griddle combo.

The 28" combo packs plenty of features similar to the 36" into a slightly smaller footprint.

At first glance, both of Blackstone's AirFryer combo cookers look similar, but there are a few differences worth mentioning.

Blackstone 28" AirFryer Griddle Combo

The 28" griddle is rocking a 524-square-inch cooktop powered by two stainless steel H-style burners. The two propane burners operate independently or in concert, each offering 17,000 BTUs for a combined 34,000 BTUs of energy.

Dual cooking zones, when used properly, can help the home cook prepare and serve lots of food in a hurry. I love having one zone on high for the majority of my cooking while keeping already cooked foods warm and ready to serve on the adjacent, cooler zone.

Dual air fryer drawers cook lots of food

Blackstone's 28" AirFryer combo comes with two air fry baskets, which each hold about a quart of food.

One drawer is dedicated to air frying.

The basket holds and can cook nearly a bag of onion rings, tater tots, or enough dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets to keep your 5-year-old's book club from getting hangry.

It's other drawer, although identical, is set up for keeping foods warm.

The warming drawer is perfect for holding bacon or sausages at just the right temperature while you're cooking up pancakes or omelets for the in-laws.

While the air fryer's powerful convection fans on both units are run on electricity, the air fryer's heating element on the 28" combo is also electric.

Although this is a departure from the gas-powered air fryer on the 36" model it comes with some advantages.

Using an electric heating element will save fuel in the long run.

It also operates independently of the propane burners. This is convenient if for some reason you wanted to use the air fryer and were out of propane.

The other benefit of using an electric heater for the air fryer is that it's lighter than the propane-fired unit.

For most, the weight is typically not a concern. But for people who are on the go and want to bring along the griddle to the campground or a tailgate event this griddle will be a bit lighter for loading and unloading.

Additional features of the Blackstone 28" AirFryer Griddle keep the cook in mind

Industrial strength wheels

The 28" brings with it some of the best features of Blackstone's 36" air fryer griddle. One of my favorite features is the independently swiveling caster wheels. These industrial strength wheels are independently locking and allow the unit to roll in any direction. I like how easy it is to move the griddle on my patio and often find myself chasing shade on hot and sunny days.

The griddle hood is included

I think the griddle hood is a brilliant accessory and should be included with every griddle. Not only does it keep the weather out, but it's very functional to use while you're cooking. The griddle hood is light but sturdy and perfect for helping to melt cheese on burgers or allowing other foods like chicken to cook more efficiently. The hood comes attached so there's nothing to set down and misplace. For the most part, it keeps your griddle dry and protected from rain, snow, pollen, pets, and leaves when the griddle is not in use.

Plenty of room for utensils

This griddle also comes standard with some great accessories for keeping your griddle tools. Accessory storage hooks are nice for hanging a spatula, or tongs. The storage magnets are powerful and keep just about any metal tool closeby.  The dual shelves both fold down for storage and are the perfect place to set a platter of cooked food or a batch of ingredients on its way to brilliance.

Blackstone 28" AirFryer Griddle ComboRear grease trap

Having a rear grease trap means cleanup is simple. Simply scrape any oils or unwanted scraps of food to the rear of the griddle and it collects with little fanfare for easy disposal. Level up your cleaning experience by using disposable grease trap liners and cleanup becomes even more simple.

With an MSRP of $ 479 the new Blackstone 2-Burner 28" Griddle Combo with Air Fryer and hood is a great buy.

** UPDATE 11/11/20: It looks like WalMart has this on rollback at a lower price!

I haven't measured it but the one on the 36" is about 6' from what I remember. I've never measured and always connect to an extension cord with no problems-

Keep checking Amanda- they will have more for sure soon! This time of year isn't normally that popular for outdoor cooking at WalMart.
