Big Green Egg grill recipes

Mini-Max Sitting Countertop

People are loving cooking food on the Big Green Egg grill and we've got some fun recipes for you to try out soon!

More and more people are embracing outdoor cooking these days for a variety of reasons. But one of the biggest reasons is that you can make delicious foods in the comfort of your own backyard.

These Big Green Egg recipes should more than help you get your menu started!

What is a Big Green Egg?

The Big Green Egg is a Kamado-style grill.

It operates much like a wood stove but is far more efficient. Temperatures are controlled by allowing or restricting airflow to the hardwood lump charcoal fuel. The more air you allow entering the grill the hotter it gets.

But unlike a wood stove, kamado grills are efficient. A combination of the grill's construction and its fuel makes it more efficient than other charcoal cookers.

Jealous Devil Charcoal

What type of fuel does the Big Green Egg use?

Hardwood lump charcoal burns hot and lasts long. It produces less ash than briquettes and certain woods bring a delicious flavor to your foods.

The Big Green Egg along with other similar style grills are typically made from engineered ceramic materials. These materials hold and retain heat very well.

Can I convert other recipes to cook on the Big Green Egg?

Absolutely!

Just about anything you can cook in an oven, slow cooker, smoker, or on a grill can be adapted to cook on the Big Green Egg.

Regardless of what you plan on cooking, hopefully, these Big Green Egg recipes will help you with your journey.

How to Grill a Thin Steak

Thin Cut Grilled Steak Recipe
Thin steaks pack the same flavor as thick ones and are surprisingly easy to cook on the grill.
This is assuming you are using a kamado-style grill or kettle grill using charcoal with GrillGrates.
If you are using a grill without GrillGrates be sure the cooking surface is clean.
Gas grills will use the same temperatures and methods but pre-heating times may vary.

Reverse Sear the Perfect Steak

Reverse Seared Steak Recipe
This is a two-step method of cooking steaks.
I must warn you though. Once this technique is mastered, you will be the envy of your friends and skeptical about ever ordering a steak at a restaurant again.
Using a thermometer to make perfectly cooked steaks on the Big Green Egg takes the guesswork out of this dish.
Cooking time does vary some but since we are cooking to temperature, you will still get perfect results every time.
