People are flipping over these accessories for the backyard griddle.
Backyard griddles run on propane and require no additional ventilation to use.
Just about anything you can cook in a pan you can make on the flat top griddle which makes them less intimidating than traditional charcoal or gas grills. Whether you're simply looking for a new spatula or a whole Blackstone accessory kit, there are plenty of solid options to choose from.
If you are planning on getting a griddle or already have one, here are my choices for the best accessories for the griddle.
Best Griddle Accessories
Griddle Cover
When it comes to Blackstone griddle accessories, unless you're fortunate enough to have a dedicated covered area outdoors to do your griddle cooking, a hardcover is a must-have accessory for the griddle.
Not only does it keep moisture off, but it prevents critters from sniffing around your cook surface too. It's great for keeping pollen off of the griddle surface too which can be a pain to clean when you are more interested in getting your Smashburger on!
Look for one that's heavy-duty and made from durable stainless steel for longevity.
This cover is made by Blackstone and is available for the 36" and 28" Griddle.

Warming Rack
The Warming Rack for the 36" griddle is one of those accessories I cannot believe I hadn't thought of inventing myself. It simply attaches to the back of the griddle allowing food to keep warm, grease, or oil to drain back to the griddle, and more space for holding food. The Warming Rack requires no tools or assembly. Simply unfold it and slide the grooves onto the back and side of your griddle. Another clever offering from Yukon Glory. So simple!
Cooking tools
Unlike a stovetop pan where you often hold the handle when cooking the griddle is a stationary and fixed cooker. This allows you to use both hands for flipping, turning, and moving food around.
Best overall accessory kit:
This accessory kit from Blackstone is the best all-in-one starter pack I have worked with. It comes with two spatulas, two squeeze bottles for liquids like oil or water, and a flat scraper, or griddle scraper that works great for moving food around or when it is time to clean the griddle. For the most part, these accessories are heavy-duty, dishwasher safe, and stainless steel which makes them easy to clean.
Best value accessory kit:
The Zen-t 8 piece tool kit comes with some extra items you may find handy. A pair of egg rings makes it handy to make egg sandwiches just like you get at the breakfast joints and the addition of a handled scraper and a pair of spring-loaded tongs make the kit hard to beat for the price.
Best Griddle Cookbook:
The Flippin' Awesome Backyard Griddle Cookbook is the first cookbook dedicated to giving you ideas about things to cook on the griddle other than just burgers and breakfast. With 50 recipes there is no shortage of inspiration and it includes plenty of techniques to have you cooking like a pro in no time.
Best scraper for cleaning:
Keeping your griddle clean is extremely important. Because food is always in contact with the griddle bits of browned and charred food will often stick and need to be removed. This scraper is sturdy and sharp allowing you to use two hands to remove caked-on residue much easier and quicker than other methods.
Disposable Drip Trays
Keeping the griddle clean from grease and oils is a snap with these disposable drip trays. Most of the new Blackstone Griddles come with a rear grease management system where you push grease off the griddle into a catch basin. These disposable drip trays make cleaning up that grease trap a breeze as you can just pull it out and toss it in the bin.

The Griddle Hood
Although it only covers about half of your griddle, The Griddle Hood was designed with the cook in mind, not the weatherman. It quickly slides onto the back of your griddle and provides insulation helping foods cook quicker and cheese melt faster. I review The Griddle Hood in greater detail in this article.
Best Bacon Press
What I like about this bacon press is that it doubles as a food press.
Most bacon presses are made from cast iron which is fine, but it will succumb to rust if kept outside. This press is made from stainless steel.
It's the perfect size for smashing down burgers, so I appreciate that the bottom is smooth where most presses have ridges for some reason on the bottom. When it comes to versatility, this press should be considered one of the necessary flat top griddle accessories and will most likely become one of your favorite griddle tools.
