Best Grilled Oysters from the Big Green Egg Grill
We made some of the Best Grilled Oysters from the Big Green Egg this past weekend. I had never even tried grilled oysters before and seafood is not the easiest thing to come across here so it was a little bit of a gamble on my part doing oysters on the grill for guests. But these Big Green Egg Grilled Oysters were the Best ever!
The whole closed oysters went on to the Big Green Egg at about 550F. They grilled for about 5 minutes before opening. When they opened, I took the very hot oysters and put them on the half shell before topping with a mixture of butter, sweated shallot, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Romano and parmesan cheese. They then went back on the Big Green Egg and cooked for an additional 5 min or so until I loved the color and texture. The oysters were so good that I pretty much forgot about the ribeye steaks, bloody mary's, and everything else- Just a pure oyster coma!
