Shrimp and grits is comfort food at its best!
The creamy grits combine with sweet shrimp and other flavors to set off an explosion of flavors in your mouth that will warm your soul.

12 Jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning ½ sweet onion finely diced ½ red bell pepper finely diced 1 tablespoon garlic minced 1 tablespoon butter 1 cup grits white corn, stone ground 4 cups water 1 cup Monterrey jack cheese grated
Pat the shrimp dry and season with bbq seasoning
Cook the shrimp in your air fryer at 400F for 6 min or until done flipping once and set aside
Make the grits by sauteeing the peppers and onions in butter until the onions are translucent
Add the garlic and saute an additional 90 seconds
stir in the white cornmeal grits
add the water and slowly bring to a boil
cook the grits for 30 minutes stirring often
remove from the heat and add the cheese
stir the cheese making sure it melts
place hot grits in a bowl and top with the cooked shrimp
serve immediately
